17.1 Upload Functionality Overview
Chariot allows users to upload images and scanned documents to receive AI-generated insights, analysis, and condition evaluations. These uploads may include photos of vehicles, interiors, dashboards, contracts, or mechanical issues.
17.2 Supported File Types
Only valid image formats (e.g., .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .heic, and .pdf) are supported. Corrupt, unsupported, or malicious files will be rejected or result in account suspension.
17.3 Upload Limits by Plan
Upload limits are enforced by subscription tier and may include:
Daily image cap (e.g., 3–10 images/day)
Max image size per upload (e.g., 10MB)
Total monthly image quota (e.g., 100–250 images/month)
Uploads exceeding these limits may be blocked or require plan upgrade.
17.4 No Upload of Illegal Content
You agree not to upload any images that contain:
Illegal content, contraband, or criminal activity
Explicit or violent content
PII of individuals (faces, IDs, license plates) without consent
Financial documents, legal contracts, or vehicle titles that are not your own
17.5 Document Upload Risk Disclosure
If uploading scanned contracts, bills of sale, or warranty PDFs, you acknowledge that Chariot’s AI may misinterpret handwriting, low-quality scans, or legal clauses. These scans are not a substitute for legal review.
17.6 Location & Metadata Stripping
EXIF data (e.g. geolocation, camera details) may be automatically stripped during upload to protect privacy. However, Chariot makes no guarantees that all metadata is removed.
17.7 Storage Duration of Images
Uploaded images may be stored on secure servers for up to 90 days for processing and customer access. Premium users may have longer retention or archive access. You may request deletion at any time.
17.8 Human Review of Uploads
Images may be manually reviewed by Chariot staff or safety auditors to improve model performance, detect abuse, or validate flagged content. These reviews are governed by strict internal privacy protocols.
17.9 No Facial Recognition
Chariot does not support or use facial recognition. Any detected faces are treated as sensitive content and may be blurred, ignored, or flagged.
17.10 Misinterpretation of Visuals
AI may incorrectly assess or hallucinate details about uploaded images, including vehicle type, condition, or damage. All visual insights are estimates only and not binding representations.
17.11 Uploads May Influence Pricing or Reports
Some uploaded content may affect output, flagging, and report pricing tiers. You accept that low-quality or incomplete uploads may degrade report quality or trigger warnings.
17.12 Use of Uploaded Content for Improvement
Unless opted out, anonymized image uploads may be used to improve AI vision models, generate visual datasets, or enhance defect detection accuracy. No resale or public display occurs without explicit consent.
17.13 No Guarantee of Image Clarity or Insights
Chariot makes no warranty that uploaded images will yield valid or usable analysis. Outcomes vary based on angle, lighting, damage, obstruction, or file quality.
17.14 Intellectual Property of Uploaded Content
By uploading, you confirm that you own or have the rights to all content submitted. You retain ownership of your images but grant Chariot a non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use them to provide the Service.
17.15 Uploads with AI-Generated Content
You may not upload synthetic or AI-generated images that are intended to spoof, mislead, or corrupt the analysis pipeline.
17.16 Upload Scams and Fraud Prevention
Chariot actively monitors for attempts to upload altered or deceptive vehicle images intended to manipulate pricing or condition reports. Such behavior may result in termination.
17.17 No Storage Guarantee
Uploads are not backed up indefinitely. You are responsible for retaining your original files. Chariot is not liable for lost uploads, deleted reports, or missing assets after 90 days.
17.18 Third-Party Cloud Processing
Chariot may utilize third-party cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Supabase Storage) to host or process uploaded images. These platforms are secured under enterprise-grade encryption and access control.
17.19 Upload Cancellation and Refund
If your upload fails or results in an incomplete analysis, you may be eligible for a retry or support review. Refunds are only granted in cases of proven system error, not subjective disagreement with results.
17.20 Upload Blocking and Filtering
If your account frequently submits unusable, spammy, or prohibited content, uploads may be blocked temporarily or permanently. Filters may also prevent unsafe or exploitative content.
17.21 Report Linking from Uploads
Each image upload may be linked to a unique report instance. Deleting an image may affect the continuity or completeness of the associated report or vehicle profile.
17.22 Survival
This section survives account deletion, and governs all images uploaded before, during, or after your use of the platform.
